Jaisalmer Fort

Jaisalmer Fort is situated in the city of Jaisalmer, in the Indian state of Rajasthan. It is believed to be one of the very few "living forts" in the world (such as Carcassonne, France), as nearly one fourth of the old city's population still resides within the fort. For the better part of its 860-year history, the fort was the city of Jaisalmer. The first settlements outside the fort walls, to accommodate the growing population of Jaisalmer, are said to have come up in the 17th century. Jaisalmer Fort is beautiful.

Gadisar Lake

Gadisar Lake is an artificial lake. It is located in the southern part of the city of Jaisalmer.This lake was built by the founder king of Jaisalmer Rawal Jaisal. Due to this, it was also called Jaisalasar Lake earlier. At that time it was the only water source of the Jaisalmer region. Later the lake was rebuilt by Gadsi Singh and after that it was renamed as Gadisar Lake. Presently, there are many tourists from abroad. The lake also has many chhatris and shrines of hindu Gods and goddesses.

Patwa Haveli

A haveli is a traditional townhouse, mansion, manor house, in the Indian subcontinent, usually one with historical and architectural significance, and located in a town or city. The word haveli is derived from Arabic hawali, meaning "partition" or "private space", popularised under the Mughal Empire, and was devoid of any architectural affiliations. Later, the word haveli came to be used as a generic term for various styles of regional mansions. A must visit point in jaisalmer.

Kuldhara

Established around the 13th century, it was once a prosperous village inhabited by Paliwal Brahmins. It was abandoned by the early 19th century for unknown reasons, possibly because of dwindling water supply, an earthquake, or as a local legend claims. Over years, Kuldhara acquired reputation as a haunted site.

Sam

The glorious Sam Sand Dunes lie almost 37.6 km of Jaisalmer fort. The dunes are situated on the outskirts of Jaisalmer amidst the vast area of the desert while Jaisalmer Fort lies in the local area of Jaisalmer. The ride to Sam Sand Dunes will take almost 40-45 minutes from Jaisalmer Fort.

Bada Bagh

Bada Bagh, also called Barabagh is a garden complex located about six kilometers north of Jaisalmer in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Overlooking a mango grove sits a set of royal chhatri cenotaphs constructed by the Maharajas of the Jaisalmer State in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries.

Khuri

Famous for its sand dunes, Khuri is a small village about 50 km south-west of Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. Khuri is less crowded and provides a more enjoyable experience. Yet to make a prominent mark on the tourist map, Khuri has escaped commercialization and the hordes that descend to visit the sand dunes. Khuri Sand Dunes of Thar Desert can be reached from the village within 30 minutes.

The temple has become a symbol of Indian nationalism due to its strategic location on the border. The temple has never been attacked despite multiple wars between India and Pakistan.
